Single storey extension, Maryborough, Douglas, Cork. This single storey extension approx 35m2 in total, was started in early Febuaury 2012. The focus is on creating a bright, welcoming, warm space.

The flat roof and parapet were finished with a layer of 20mm Asphalt, on top of a 100mm layer of high density Xtratherm insulation. The two roof lights are from Velux, their impact internally is staggering, the room is filled with natural light, despite only having glazing on one wall.

End of week 4. The extension is complete externally, and fully secured and watertight. The large sliding unit 4800mm in diameter, was ordered prior to us starting on site, to avoid any delays, and to ensure that the project stayed on schedule (8 weeks in total). In order to compensate for the large area of glass, the floor, walls, and roof are being heavily insulated.

The external plastering is Webber Pral D coloured render, this product gives a clean crisp finish and is maintenance free.
