Renovations
Castlemeighan Renovation

Renovations This was old cottage dating back to famine times which had previously been extended.

Extensions were built on to the front and rear, the old roof removed and then the entire house was re slated.

Internally the house was completely gutted. The house was then re plumbed, re wired and insulated extensively.

Externally, dry stone walls, along with natural paving and sensitive landscaping helped connected the house to the surrounding countryside.

The project was completed in 32 weeks.

Cottage Renovation

Renovations This was an extensive renovation and extension. Extensions were added to the east, south and west sides along with a storage shed. The old cottage was completely stripped out, and then insulated, re plumbed,re wired and  decorated.

The concrete floors in the old house had been laid on bare earth. These were removed, a sealed radon barrier put in place, 100mm of high density insulation and 150mm of concrete poured in place.

The old stone walls which were over 2ft thick in places were insulated internally and the heating systems replaced under the S.E.I home energy saving scheme. In order to give a seamless appearance, the entire roof was slated and the front dormer covered with natural cedar cladding. All the old plaster was removed and the entire building was then plastered both externally and internally.

The end result is a stunning mix of traditional and contempary design. The project was completed in 28 weeks.
